We use what we have for our kids clothes storage. We can't afford a built in wardrobe in their room and a tallboy doesn't have enough space, however the kids can't keep a shelf of sorted clothes tidy, so they use this:
Boxes in cupboard
This is my eldest daughter's clothes storage. They are old nappy boxes (I think we still have every box from each lot of nappies we bought - we didn't buy many) and we have recently covered the fronts with some contact to make them look nicer. In one she keeps shirts, in the middle, skirts and the last box has socks, undies, singlets etc. We do have a tallboy that stores their pyjamas and a few other things. Jackets go on a shelf of this two door melamine cupboard. \

The boxes act as drawers and it makes it a breeze to put washing away - unless it's pjs there's no opening and closing drawers, and if the box falls out of the cupboard it wont hurt them.

It was initially done out of necessity, but now I wouldn't change it.
